I'd like to introduce you to Geraldine. She's a rose. A pink rose with violet red tones and perky orange yellow edged outer petals.

She’s gorgeous. And she was going to be landfill.

As a new gardener, I completely overwhelmed myself wanting to grow everything.

Then for 9 years as a professional farmer gal, I got to work with countless varieties of veggies, flowers, herbs and even microgreens.

Now running a business and having a family means I've had to seriously narrow in on what I choose to grow in my own kitchen garden.

I thought this would be a great opportunity to share with you what I've found gives me the most success with the least effort.

Taking the time to appreciate daily is one very simple thing I can do each day to lighten my mental load.

The most valuable lesson flower farming has taught me (and I mean valuable like hundreds of dollars in dead plants) is that planting perennials in the fall is waaaaay easier than nursing them through summer heat and drought.
